Stacey Kallem MD, MSHP

Faculty Scholar

Stacey Kallem is a faculty scholar, a former faculty member at PolicyLab and an adjunct assistant professor of pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kallem currently serves as the director of the Philadelphia Department of Public Health’s Division of Maternal, Child, and Family Health. She continues to collaborate with PolicyLab on the A Running Start — Health, the citywide agenda for early childhood health.

During her time at PolicyLab, Dr. Kallem’s research focused on two-generational approaches for improving health and developmental outcomes in the early childhood period, with a particular focus in screening and referring for postpartum depression in pediatric settings, maternal and early childhood home visiting services, and the social determinants of health.

Dr. Kallem received her medical degree from the Yale School of Medicine. She then completed pediatrics residency at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Kallem went on and completed the National Clinician Scholars Program, a health services research training fellowship, at the University of Pennsylvania where she also earned her Master's in Health Policy Research.
