Cody Gathers MD
Cody Gathers is an affiliate trainee at PolicyLab, a pediatric critical care fellow at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and a postdoctoral research fellow within the National Clinician Scholars Program at the University of Pennsylvania, where he is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Health Policy Research. He is also an associate fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Gathers’ research analyzes racial and socioeconomic disparities in pediatric cardiac arrest and develops interventions to mitigate these disparities within hospital systems and communities.
Dr. Gathers received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry and military leadership at Clemson University. He received his medical degree from Medical University of South Carolina, where he served as the director of a student-run free clinic in Charleston and a mentor for undergraduate students who are underrepresented in medicine. He then completed residency in pediatrics through the Urban Health and Advocacy Track of the Boston Combined Residency Program at Boston Children’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center.
