PolicyLab Releases Policy Brief on Addressing the Unique Needs of Immigrant & LEP Communities During COVID-19
Members of immigrant communities and those with limited English proficiency (LEP) are more vulnerable to the health and social consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This past summer, PolicyLab and collaborators conducted a survey of community partners who work with these populations in order to better understand their unique perspectives. Building off of the findings from this survey, this new policy brief offers recommendations to policymakers and public health practitioners on opportunities to protect the health and well-being of immigrant/LEP communities, improve health care delivery and address future public health crises in an equitable manner. In addition, the brief also provides critical lessons learned that could be applied to COVID-19 vaccine distribution. Find the brief here.
