Request for Applications: Community Partnerships in Research Awards

We are excited to announce that PolicyLab is looking for our next cohort of applicants for our Community Partnerships in Research –  Partnership Development and Joint Pilot Project Awards.

Launched in 2022, PolicyLab’s Community Partnerships in Research program funds innovative community-engaged research pilot grants. The program seeks to:

  • promote health equity in the Greater Philadelphia area by building and deepening community-academic partnerships for research targeting health improvements among children and families;
  • build capacity at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for community-academic partnered research and the conduct of translational research using best practices in community-engaged research methods; and
  • support the next generation of health equity researchers.

Partnership Development Awards provide seed funding to support activities related to the development of new or emerging community-academic research partnerships. Partnership Development Awards will be made up to a maximum of $7,000 for one year (resource specifics subject to change). They are an on-ramp to applying for the Joint Pilot Project award in future grant cycles.

Joint Pilot Project Awards are geared towards established community-academic partnerships who seek funds for a well-defined research project that may produce preliminary data or programs for future competitive grant applications. Joint Pilot Project Awards will be supported for up to a maximum of $40,000 for up to two years (resource specifics subject to change).

Click here for the full program description and application details. Applications are due by April 6, 2026 at 5 p.m. ET. All materials should be sent to Dr. Tanisha Belton at beltont@chop.edu.

This opportunity is only for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia employees.

Each year, PolicyLab hosts recipients of our Community Partnerships in Research Program awards to celebrate their accomplishments, hear updates from their work and share lessons learned from conducting innovative and thoughtful research. Tag along with us for our most recent meeting and hear from some of our partner teams about their work and why community-engaged research means so much to them.
