Increasing HPV Vaccination Rates Among Adolescents: Challenges and Opportunities

PolicyLab sought to understand the low uptake of HPV vaccines and conducted multiple studies to evaluate parents’ decision-making, barriers to access, and both health care provider and health care system influences on vaccine delivery.

In this Evidence to Action brief, we discuss the importance of HPV vaccines for cancer prevention, address the challenges that result in low uptake of the vaccine, and highlight four opportunities for action to help increase rates of HPV vaccination among boys and girls.
