CHOP’s Vaccine Education Center Elevates Science-backed Recommendations in 200 Words

Editor’s note: In this post, we round up just a few of the many timely resources our partners at the Vaccine Education Center have produced to help guide informed decision making.
As we head into respiratory illness season, states like Pennsylvania are taking important steps to bolster vaccine access amid uncertainty. The evidence on both the safety and efficacy of vaccination, as well as the importance of vaccines for supporting healthy communities is robust but often drowned out by misinformation. That’s why the work of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s (CHOP) Vaccine Education Center is so critical, and never more so than at this moment where the policy landscape around vaccine recommendations and programs is changing.
Here are four resources from the CHOP Vaccine Education Center to help cut through the noise:
- Locating the Latest Science-based Vaccine Recommendations: a continually updated resource list of evidence-based vaccine schedules and recommendations.
- Vaccine Notes: a new video and podcast series explaining the science behind individual vaccines.
- ACIP Shorts: a video series detailing the role of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and other key parts of our national vaccine infrastructure.
- Technically Speaking: 5 Avenues for Vaccine Advocacy: a guide for health care providers about how to advocate for vaccines with patients, health system leaders, community leaders and policymakers.
Everyone has a role to play in keeping families healthy and strengthening our communities, and vaccine science can help point the way. When we care for families—whether as pediatricians, researchers or community leaders—we ensure that they have what they need to thrive.
