New Policy Brief on Addressing Postpartum Depression in Pediatric Settings
PolicyLab just released a policy brief in which our experts provide a vision for a pediatric health system that—in partnership with the adult care system—addresses health disparities in the postpartum period and ensures that all birthing individuals and their children have access to the care they need during this crucial time. This brief also provides recommendations for state policymakers to improve pathways to care for this population by extending postpartum Medicaid coverage, ensuring access to postpartum depression screening, and supporting reimbursement policy that can fund evidence-based interventions in the pediatric setting.
This is the first product in our new “Payment Report Series,” in which PolicyLab team members compile evidence and explore levers for sustainably financing delivery system innovations in the pediatric setting that advance health equity. Access the full brief here as well as our project page on payment reform, and revisit our website for future resources within this series that promote a more equitable health care system.
