Stats Atwood PhD, MA
Stats Atwood (they/them) is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Craig-Dalsimer Division of Adolescent Medicine at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), and a psychology fellow at CHOP’s Leadership Education in Adolescent Health Program. Their research focuses on mixed-methods projects centered around the health and well-being of transgender and nonbinary youth as well as related topics, including mental health, access to gender-affirming care, neurodiversity, and the transition from pediatric to adult care.
Prior to working at CHOP, Stats completed their graduate work at Princeton University, where they studied gender diversity from the perspectives of social and developmental psychology and social policy at the Human Diversity Lab. During graduate school, they were an NSF Graduate Research Fellow and a Jr. Fellow at the Center for Applied Transgender Studies.
In addition to research, Stats values human diversity and believes that including diverse individuals in research begets more comprehensive and innovative science. They are committed to fostering inclusive research environments and interdisciplinary collaborations that generate academic insights relevant to real-world challenges related to gender diversity and social equity.
