Katie Wu is a clinical research assistant at PolicyLab at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). She is currently works on a project to better understand barriers to accessing comprehensive and coordinated care for adolescents and young adults with epilepsy. The project aims to develop and implement both patient-facing and provider-facing tools and strategies to improve access to care as these patients transition and transfer their care from pediatric to adult care.
Katie is also the Youth Community Health Worker for the Multidisciplinary Intervention Navigation Team (MINT), a clinical program that helps coordinate the safe transfer of care from CHOP to adult care for adult patients at CHOP with two or more sub-specialists and/or intellectual disability. She works with patients to develop healthcare independence and self-advocacy skills. Katie received bachelors degree in biology and is currently working on her Masters of Public Health at the University of Pennsylvania.
