Jessica Rice DO, MHS
Jessica Rice (she/her/hers) is a faculty member at PolicyLab at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), an assistant professor within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania and an attending pediatric pulmonologist at CHOP.
Dr. Rice’s research focuses on the indoor environment as a modifiable risk factor for pediatric lung disease. Previous research has investigated the health effects of indoor air pollution in the homes of preterm infants. Future work will develop, implement, and evaluate the health impact of an intervention to reduce indoor air pollution (including secondhand smoke exposure) in homes of infants and children with chronic lung disease.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from The Pennsylvania State University and received her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Rice completed pediatrics residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia and her pediatric pulmonology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. She also completed a master’s degree in clinical investigation at The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
