Jeanette Trella PharmD, BCPPS
Jeanette Trella (she/her) is a faculty scholar at PolicyLab at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). She is also a health care administrator, a pediatric clinical pharmacist, and serves as the founding senior director of the Center for Public Health Readiness and Response at CHOP, which employs over 40 registered nurses, pharmacists, physicians, and public health professionals.
The Center for Public Health Readiness and Response at CHOP houses the Philadelphia Poison Center (designated for >9 million people in Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware), along with programs created under Dr. Trella’s leadership that benefited from its preexisting public health safety net infrastructure, including the Infection Prevention and Control Contact Center, the Comprehensive Opioid Response and Education Program, the Acute Illness Reporting Line and Employee Crisis Support Line, and the Substance Use and Harm Reduction for Families Program. Dr. Trella contributes her experience in leadership development, strategic planning, relationship building, and public health and programmatic growth and development to the PolicyLab team.
Dr. Trella received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the James L. Winkle School of Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati and completed pharmacy practice residency at CHOP. She is a board certified pediatric clinical pharmacist and is actively pursuing her MPH as a Bloomberg fellow at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. She completed the National Science Foundations I-Corps Hub: Northeast Regional Program in 2022 and has helped bring an innovative software solution for poison centers to market. Additionally, Dr. Trella serves on the Board of Directors for America’s Poison Centers.
