Sarah Ingerman MSW
Sarah Ingerman (she/her) is a policy manager at PolicyLab at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Ms. Ingerman is responsible for identifying and pursuing sustainability and growth opportunities for early literacy promotion in pediatric primary care. She specifically supports Reach Out and Read, which is an evidence-based, family-centric program in pediatric care that incorporates books and anticipatory guidance into well child visits. Ms. Ingerman works closely with teams across PolicyLab, Reach Out and Read Greater Philadelphia, and CHOP Government Affairs.
Prior to joining PolicyLab, Ms. Ingerman served as the evaluation manager at Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s Center for Community Health and Health Equity in Boston. In this role, she supported the Center’s broad array of community health programs, including those promoting literacy and educational opportunities for young people, advancing maternal and child health, and addressing interpersonal and community violence. Ms. Ingerman also oversaw the development and implementation of community health assets and needs assessments and other community benefit activities.
In other roles, Ms. Ingerman was a research associate and project manager at Public Health Management Corporation, in Philadelphia, where she led public health focused evaluation projects and research activities. She also worked at Congreso de Latinos Unidos where she provided direct support to families in North Philadelphia.
Ms. Ingerman has a Master of Social Work from Boston College’s School of Social Work, with a focus on social innovation and non-profit leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Skidmore College in Anthropology.
