Abby Houlihan

Clinical Research Assistant

Abby Houlihan (she/her) is a clinical research assistant at PolicyLab and the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Abby supports Dr. Jami Young and Dr. Molly Davis in the Adolescent Depression Prevention and Treatment (ADePT) Lab on projects focused on the implementation and evaluation of interventions targeting youth depression and suicide prevention. 

Abby graduated from Swarthmore College in May 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She began working at CHOP as an undergraduate research assistant in the ADePT Lab. At Swarthmore, Abby contributed to research in the Resilience & Well-Being Lab. She studied personal, interpersonal, and societal factors that contribute to social and emotional well-being. Additionally, Abby worked as a research assistant in Swarthmore’s Demonstrating Emotion-Environment Relationships Lab, where she studied methods for leveraging emotions and the self-concept to motivate pro-environmental actions. Abby plans to pursue graduate level studies to further prepare her for a career that supports the health and well-being of young people and families.
