Ellie Segan MS
Ellie Segan (she/her) is a clinical research coordinator at PolicyLab at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Ms. Segan is currently working with Dr. Marsha Gerdes on a project to implement positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) to child care staff in the Philadelphia area. Her professional interests involve childhood socioemotional development, early childhood trauma and adversity. She also brings versatile experience in data collection, management and coding.
Prior to joining PolicyLab, Ms. Segan served as a research assistant for Project Siesta at Penn State University and for the Global Baby Innovations team at Johnson & Johnson. Ms. Segan received her bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies and holds a minor in child maltreatment and advocacy studies from Penn State University. She also received a master's degree in psychology from Saint Joseph's University, where she worked on a project to evaluate online adaptive tutoring technology.
After discovering interest in the implications of external risk on early development, she wrote her undergraduate thesis on the impacts of high household chaos on infant sleep outcomes.
