PolicyLab Alumni Impact: Bardia Nabet

PolicyLab has many talented alumni whose experiences here led them to pursue exciting opportunities to continue the center’s mission beyond our walls.

Today, Bardia Nabet, MPH, is the associate director of digital strategy and business development at Cedars-Sinai Health System in Los Angeles, California, where he drives initiatives to improve care outcomes and patient experience through digital care model innovation and strategic business model evolution.

At PolicyLab, Mr. Nabet worked across teams on several initiatives, which he says shaped his career and professional interests. As a strategist and communications associate, he translated research using strategic communications tactics, co-authored a report on multi-sector opportunities to increase U.S. child vaccination rates, and helped establish the portfolio structure we use today.

Mr. Nabet credits his time at PolicyLab with exposing him to cross-disciplinary decision-making frameworks, enabling his ability to translate complex evidence into actionable insights and impact. He leans on the communications approaches he honed at PolicyLab as useful tools for internal communication and external go-to-market strategy in his day-to-day work. His time at PolicyLab also emphasized the value of mentorship, taking with him the ethos of “paying it forward,” a concept instilled in him by his mentors into his professional relationships now.

“My career and skillsets have come very full circle in ways I wasn’t necessarily expecting. This mindset that it doesn’t just end with research—which is the core idea of PolicyLab—continues to resonate with me. It’s about driving that overall impact using all the tools and evidence at your disposal.”
