Ayomide Popoola

Clinical Research Assistant

Ayomide Popoola is a clinical research assistant at PolicyLab and the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). She works with Dr. Wanjiku Njoroge on the Prenatal to Preschool (P2P) study, which examines early child development and maternal mental health.

Ms. Popoola graduated with her Honors Life Science degree and a psychology Mmnor from McMaster University in 2022. Throughout her research career, Ms. Popoola has had the privilege to engage in meaningful, interdisciplinary research at various institutions, including McMaster University, the University of Toronto, New York University, and the University of Pennsylvania.

Ms. Popoola's research interests broadly examine the effects of racial-ethnic socialization on developmental psychopathology, specifically, how various ecological factors contribute to the development of risk and/or resilience in the Black (African, Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Latinx and African-American) community. In the near future, she plans to pursue her doctoral studies in clinical-community psychology.
