PolicyLab researcher Aletha Akers, MD, MPH, is a nominee for Philadelphia’s Social Innovations Award in the category of public policy and government. This award recognizes innovative leaders that have demonstrated a commitment to improving public life through various sectors and domains. Dr. Akers was nominated for her leadership in a policy initiative that expanded access to long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs) for underserved adolescents in Pennsylvania.
