Upcoming PolicyLab and Department of Human Services (DHS) Press Conference
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) and PolicyLab at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) will hold a press conference on Tuesday, February 23rd, from 2pm to 2:30pm. At this event, DHS Secretary Ted Dallas will announce the progress that's been made related to recommendations regarding psychotropic medication use among Pennsylvania children in foster care and enrolled in Medicaid. Doug Hock, CHOP's Chief Operating Officer, will discuss the work done by CHOP's PolicyLab on this issue. For more information and to register, click here.
The DHS actions were taken in response to work done by the psychotropic subcommittee of the DHS Committee on Foster Care and Health, a multidisciplinary stakeholder group consisting of clinicians, lawyers, payers, advocates and families, and by a report produced by PolicyLab report last spring about the use of psychotropic medications among Medicaid-enrolled children and youth in Pennsylvania.
