Commission to Eliminate Child Abuse and Neglect Fatalities Releases Final Report
An estimated four to eight children die every day from abuse and neglect, and half of these children are less than a year old. These statistics were the driving force behind the federal Commission to Eliminate Child Abuse and Neglect Fatalities (CECANF). PolicyLab Director Dr. David Rubin was one of 12 commissioners appointed by the president and Congress to develop a national strategy for reducing child fatalities resulting from abuse and neglect. Last week, the Commission released its report, which outlines a strategy for how to realign our public systems, provider organizations and communities to protect children at highest risk of fatality from abuse or neglect. See below for the PolicyLab blog, report, report fact sheet, and some notable media coverage.
