Melissa Argraves MD
Melissa Argraves is an affiliate trainee at PolicyLab at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and a fellow physician in the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology at CHOP. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Medical Education at the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Argraves seeks to enhance the care of children with rheumatic disease. Her research focuses on better understanding the overlap of rheumatic disease and amplified musculoskeletal pain syndrome (AMPS). She aims to improve the quality of life of children affected by these conditions, which are treated very differently. She works closely with PolicyLab researcher Dr. Sabrina Gmuca. Dr. Argraves also has a passion for medical education. In addition to teaching residents and medical students, she is working to improve trainee professional development and pediatric rheumatology education.
Dr. Argraves graduated summa cum laude from the University of Connecticut in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She earned her medical degree from the University of Connecticut in 2016 and completed her pediatrics residency in 2019 at CHOP.
