Ami Kumar MEd
Ami Kumar is a clinical research coordinator at PolicyLab and the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (DCAPBS) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). She currently works on a research project where the goal is to conduct an evaluation of a school-based Organizational Skills Training (OST) program for students with deficits in organizational, time management and planning skills. Additionally, Ms. Kumar is involved with Project ACCESS and the HMHK initiative.
Prior to joining CHOP, Ms. Kumar graduated with her B.S. in psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2015 and later obtained her M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology from Temple University in 2017. During her graduate studies, Ms. Kumar completed her clinical internship at La Salle University Student Counseling Center. Additionally, she worked as a Field Assessor for the Consortium for Policy Research in Education (CPRE) at the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Kumar’s passion lies in her involvement with the Race, Ethnicity, Culture, and Well-Being Lab at Arcadia University where research of individuals from multicultural backgrounds is highlighted, along with the effects of race and ethnicity on mental health, the education system and representing underrepresented populations.
