Amanda Makara
Amanda Makara is a clinical research coordinator and lab manager at PolicyLab and the Eating Disorder Assessment and Treatment Program at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Ms. Makara joined Dr. Alix Timko's team in the Summer of 2020. She coordinates the Open Science Open Grocery (OSOG) Study, Reward Circuitry Neuroimaging Study and the Shifting Perspectives Study, and is involved in several other research projects within the Timko Research Group.
Ms. Makara graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2020 with an undergraduate degree in neuroscience. She has previously worked as a research assistant where she focused her efforts on studying impulsivity in the adult eating disorder population as well as assisted on a research project piloting an ecological momentary assessment (EMA) intervention in young adults with ADHD. In the future, she plans to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology.
